In 2011, I posted a talk by Larry Norton in which he addresses the risks of taking a daily multiple vitamin. The problem Norton points to is that most multiple vitamins contain more than 100% DV of each ingredient – sometimes more than ten times the amount – which he believes can trigger a variety of health problems.

There was recently a study published that seems to contradict Norton’s advice; however, as far as I can tell, Norton’s concerns about taking many times more than 100% DV of most vitamins still holds. It seems that it might be beneficial to take a multiple vitamin that delivers 100% DV, but not more.
